I made a couple more pieces for my meaningful jewelry line. This one is for safety in flight. It has an airplane (upwards bound of course), a compass to keep your path and soapstone, which is used for calming the nerves and helping you be prepared for anything. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3OLoTI_mxWQby5HynXJtnmbQ14AYIYnKJW4EsibGBqZF38Qga6a0x8KBqQdUlDp6LtyFwJ8JR_q4I33aaMZgCacY47VqmLm1CrblU6qeXxeniXRbsIsB1Moxe2Kcix4ejPRB6FImLixc/s1600/110411+010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3OLoTI_mxWQby5HynXJtnmbQ14AYIYnKJW4EsibGBqZF38Qga6a0x8KBqQdUlDp6LtyFwJ8JR_q4I33aaMZgCacY47VqmLm1CrblU6qeXxeniXRbsIsB1Moxe2Kcix4ejPRB6FImLixc/s400/110411+010.JPG" width="400" /></a></div> Malachite is used for protection and is said to detect impending danger. Copper is related to the sun and so the copper sun charm was a good pick. <br />

The beads on the front look like roughed up labradorite but is actually acrylic. The charms and chain part are new stock aged with patina paint. <br />

I love that bit of <i>rusty-ness</i> around the chain and holes of the beads. The brass/bronze piece is<i> very</i> heavy.<br />

In other news, hubby and I did another 5K on Saturday night. One of our chick-fil-a's here does a fabulous light display every Christmas season. There are rows and rows of arches covered with lights going over the drive-thru lane. The whole building and parking lot is light up and the lights dance to the music! You can tune into a radio station and sit in the comfort of your car and watch the show. <br />

A lot happened and I just didn't blog like I should have. My father has been ill for years. I went to spend a few weeks back at home. I stayed by his side in the hospital. The doc finally told us that it was time and that we should just do what he would want to make Dad comfortable. It was an easy decision to take him back home. My Dad (or I for that matter) would not want to die in a cold, metal hospital bed. Hospice brought him home and he was in his own bed where he would want to be. I stayed by his side and he passed away peacefully. My heart was broken into many pieces. He was 84.<br />

In October, I walked/ran my 2nd 5K. The Race for The Cure :) I am for sure not a pro runner, but I enjoy the exercise and the money goes to a good cause. I normally walk a 5K everyday. Occasionally I skip a day, but I love it!<br />

I have actually been making stuff! I will post some on that later. Hopefully. I am saying that is prolly what you are saying about me and my blogging habits. I have a million excuses, but you don't want to hear them. So let's just forgive and forget and hopefully I can get back to blogging the way I should. (I know the 9 of you have been anxiously awaiting a post from me)<br />
How about I start with some supply goodie pics? Fanci sent me some more stuff. Believe it or not, she just sent me these things. I didn't have to ask for them! She offered and I graciously accepted. :) (Sorry for the bad picture quality)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhky-ugAqH_5evvAO3ah0BRcJxJyRulOcTHJh9n12RB72HHKV5_CD-Sr5VBkbj1w6MvS1ODVq4izRYCwvGJxkGlx-rNtqwwIKLBqGDZdpIZ-hc9sk4rRGMoU3nYnOaCAffNr3Od2G_9Vo/s1600/2011-07-05_12-50-29_280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhky-ugAqH_5evvAO3ah0BRcJxJyRulOcTHJh9n12RB72HHKV5_CD-Sr5VBkbj1w6MvS1ODVq4izRYCwvGJxkGlx-rNtqwwIKLBqGDZdpIZ-hc9sk4rRGMoU3nYnOaCAffNr3Od2G_9Vo/s400/2011-07-05_12-50-29_280.jpg" width="400" /></a></div> Ok, it was more like a hell yeah, I'll take it! Which brings me to what I am saying next.<br />

I try to make everything all "pretty" with butterflies and rainbows. *pause* (sorry, I nearly gagged)<br />

I am not a bi-otch or anything, but I am sure as hell not a prim and proper kinda gal. When I get angry, I cuss like a sailor. When I don't like something, I say so. I'm not into all the making pretty little things just like everyone else's. (some things have been SOOO overdone!) I love old junk and creating things that look just as old. <br />

I'm me. Take me or leave me! Btw, I don't dislike that type of jewelry or those types of blogs. It's great that we like different things. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW75gqHEaj75Xij8Nt_1V5hN7IvctizUpxpLoA710hmaKckJcHUvL7bJNMYz8f-HPCMgfEvVdt2ZJT9l8Zta1inXxqpEC1cgq8iEKnhbPnHygGDwXrF32IhVzZbWiPWGDfuuV_g09iEg8/s1600/2011-07-05_12-52-38_271.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW75gqHEaj75Xij8Nt_1V5hN7IvctizUpxpLoA710hmaKckJcHUvL7bJNMYz8f-HPCMgfEvVdt2ZJT9l8Zta1inXxqpEC1cgq8iEKnhbPnHygGDwXrF32IhVzZbWiPWGDfuuV_g09iEg8/s400/2011-07-05_12-52-38_271.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
In the pic above you see the "Rifle Expert" thingy? Love it! And yeah, I love shooting guns! I have a .40 cal Taurus 24/7 handgun. Oh, and a license to open carry in public. So there! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWD9pFccIV9RBIpSHj6ccaPpy3MdzUxwrqa-lsTqjoCga2SceEkN9vHVqjNYN7lvMdOtj_u0awWGM0nEb7D3a2LP0PFt0KG_La0h7q0H1CeuQoVg7VUgI0dbOr9h5uv_UlO8yKiduiwBY/s1600/RedBeads.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWD9pFccIV9RBIpSHj6ccaPpy3MdzUxwrqa-lsTqjoCga2SceEkN9vHVqjNYN7lvMdOtj_u0awWGM0nEb7D3a2LP0PFt0KG_La0h7q0H1CeuQoVg7VUgI0dbOr9h5uv_UlO8yKiduiwBY/s400/RedBeads.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>My sister, who lives in Naples, came up to see my Mom and sister a couple weeks ago. She left me a baggie with a anklet thingy that she wanted me to fix and a baggie of junk jewelry. These red beads were in there. Man, they are huge. And I want to eat them. Seriously, they look big, red and juicy. lol <br />
<br />
Now before you start thinking that I am just some evil soul, I am not. I believe in God. I do my best to be positive all the time, because I believe that what you send out, you get back. (and considering I am 43, frowning brings on the wrinkles, lol) I love my family above all things. I love to make people smile. I pray and meditate daily. I try to help people see the good side of things and hate to see anyone drowning in self-pity.<br />
<br />
Hopefully, through this post, you now know me better. And... hopefully you keep following my blog!<br />

She recently went to Uruguay and now her stash is overwhelming, so she decided to sell some lots of things. I wish I could get the awesome stuff she found in U, but I guess I would have to take a trip there myself to get the realllly awesome stuff. (a few of the pieces was from her U haul) I did however, get some cool things from her! Here's a few pics....<br />

I closed to prepare for Christmas and Christmas visitors, then I was working on inventory for my bead shop, then working on inventory for my jewelry shop... *breath* then my son and his gf came for a visit, then I had to make a trip to my Mom's to do some computer work for her (and visit of course). ARGH!<br />
<br />
I finally gave up and listed a few things today. I still have more to list, but at least I have a couple new things in the shop.<br />

Yeeehaw!<br />
<br />
This batch of goodness I got from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/2BCreative" style="color: #6fa8dc;">2BCreative</a><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"> </span>on Etsy. Isn't the Rouge tin adorable!?!?! It still has rouge and the little applicator inside :) <br />

I've been doing ..... INVENTORY. As most of you know, I have 2 jewelry shops, <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/ProlificAdornments?ref=seller_info" style="color: #6fa8dc;">Prolific Adornments</a> and <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignsByDebi"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;">Designs By Debi</span>.</a> I also have a supply shop, <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/SweetGeorgiaBeads" style="color: #6fa8dc;">Sweet Georgia Beads</a>. Well guess what? This girl has been slack, slack, slack! I actually have POS software which I am SUPPOSED to keep up with sales and inventory on. Have I been doing it? A big fat Nope! So I have been having to spend the last couple of weeks counting, counting, counting, count.... well you get the idea.<br />
<br />
I can't reopen my supply shop till I know my inventory. (tax crap) I can't work on new jewelry till I know my jewelry making inventory. (tax crap again) So I've been working on inventory and pouting to myself about not being able to make new cool stuffs. :(( <br />
<br />
So anyways, now ya know where I've been. I am SOOOO tired of doing inventory. I will kick myself in the rear if I don't keep up this year! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV1HPrudoRcq0q73JVOIOqDZJBuAOPU2fbOFMTNh7KoutTKQh0Lyj1FAimV2D2afQeKgx3GjsI1QxJCIyM5rJqE1k0SOZJnIt1sVfbWfRwTgB6PZjEbNTUcVO0OsOP9Mgx3FnG9CM0JFM/s1600/Exhausted.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV1HPrudoRcq0q73JVOIOqDZJBuAOPU2fbOFMTNh7KoutTKQh0Lyj1FAimV2D2afQeKgx3GjsI1QxJCIyM5rJqE1k0SOZJnIt1sVfbWfRwTgB6PZjEbNTUcVO0OsOP9Mgx3FnG9CM0JFM/s320/Exhausted.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
A pic of my DD's doggie. She looks like I feel! I hope that in the next few days I will be done with this darn inventory and back to creating!~Debihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15954837182565399677noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2341105579124575255.post-41434779171342327992011-01-03T12:10:00.000-05:002011-01-03T12:10:04.115-05:00A New Year and Change!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwXIk4aLXVeiIUPIxfdlmiYWr6UPTMfwKw1o4pMYCaCTR05w8BN5X2yvQP_HAXW6K6-7u7U1hzBHnNGsIfsjmupEqezOvsdA9kCeQrTphsZs191qPG51OgoWkTiX5PE-yPPpJ8lBN77ic/s1600/changeahead.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwXIk4aLXVeiIUPIxfdlmiYWr6UPTMfwKw1o4pMYCaCTR05w8BN5X2yvQP_HAXW6K6-7u7U1hzBHnNGsIfsjmupEqezOvsdA9kCeQrTphsZs191qPG51OgoWkTiX5PE-yPPpJ8lBN77ic/s320/changeahead.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
First of all I want to tell everyone, Happy New Year!! So how many people have made resolutions? How many of you didn't bother because "I'm just going to fail anyway"? Year after year people make resolutions but don't succeed. Why? Because they don't change anything to make it happen. They don't plan out their resolutions so that they are manageable. They are doomed to fail before they begin.<br />
<br />
A few days before New Year's Day, I went to the bookstore shopping. I perused the self-help books and found what I need. I know it's been out there a number of years but I finally picked up a copy of Jack Canfield's "The Success Principles." Between every thing else I needed to do, I managed to read the entire book in about 3 days. Wow!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP-BSAx2KzlBJVKt9J3Od0XHtttKo9Nfl53PzZUr_pHOU3Zd2NWv2csbH3RClVUQfmtcpcn1wsoniy4KyXSrIwmVgYOXIw8iFBekkvtNdCc4R_KNO99xgq0obwr47AtE9sBGdNXYLD_eo/s1600/SP.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP-BSAx2KzlBJVKt9J3Od0XHtttKo9Nfl53PzZUr_pHOU3Zd2NWv2csbH3RClVUQfmtcpcn1wsoniy4KyXSrIwmVgYOXIw8iFBekkvtNdCc4R_KNO99xgq0obwr47AtE9sBGdNXYLD_eo/s1600/SP.gif" /></a></div>Seriously people, if you are not absolutely satisfied with your life, this book will help you to get to where you want to be! I have been inspired by Mr. Canfield since I saw him on "The Secret" DVD telling his story of how he made his first million dollars from the beloved "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book.<br />
<br />
The book is chock full of advice and motivational stories, plus exercises to complete. I am working on a few of the exercises right now. Oh, and it is not just a book for those who own a business. This book can help you make positive changes in all aspects of your life- business, relationships, school, finances, or personal goals such as weight loss.<br />
<br />
I bought the book at Barnes and Noble for $16.95, but you can get it at Amazon for $12.23. Enough reading now! Get out there and make a real change in your life! I know I am :)~Debihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15954837182565399677noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2341105579124575255.post-7594468297239981092010-12-08T22:23:00.000-05:002010-12-08T22:23:22.735-05:00New Things and Possibly a New Line of JewelryAhh, I got rid of the puter virus and am back to normal (however normal you could call me) I really haven't been making much lately. I dunno, I just got burnt out and needed a break. Anyways, here are a couple things I made recently.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu6dkLjU8XgzC9hqVmpx8ROCa-5B4JgR83bfWPdC0HVtYoS4Y3MbX_lxTtB4SS8E460dKvPJECD7Sjrm4OyLHhqi7lUNaxyZ_GmZjhgtqJMP3B8q0gyaVufpBwF1nq9bNEpjO2oec8H3A/s1600/Dec081026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu6dkLjU8XgzC9hqVmpx8ROCa-5B4JgR83bfWPdC0HVtYoS4Y3MbX_lxTtB4SS8E460dKvPJECD7Sjrm4OyLHhqi7lUNaxyZ_GmZjhgtqJMP3B8q0gyaVufpBwF1nq9bNEpjO2oec8H3A/s320/Dec081026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> This necklace started off with a couple things I got at the flea market: the domino, which I roughed up and aged and the little girl disk. It came from the tin lid I got<span style="background-color: white; color: #6fa8dc;"> </span><a href="http://prolificadornments.blogspot.com/2010/11/todays-flea-market-finds.html" style="background-color: white; color: #6fa8dc;">here</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #6fa8dc;">. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXiRrZ0K5eL8TPOspovkHLQAxvqBSHfrXfzOehu49uVLS3rqktMDmuSRKznDBCSLWj4-VoyKXOH2NsUr92AjETDSM3W6gtssxvE9jOFi9HfQ9f4w4vw1-3E2CDlIHRQbdNc_R8s1hqIUo/s1600/Dec081009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXiRrZ0K5eL8TPOspovkHLQAxvqBSHfrXfzOehu49uVLS3rqktMDmuSRKznDBCSLWj4-VoyKXOH2NsUr92AjETDSM3W6gtssxvE9jOFi9HfQ9f4w4vw1-3E2CDlIHRQbdNc_R8s1hqIUo/s320/Dec081009.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>There is, as (almost) always, a lot of recycled components. The girl from the tin, the domino, the white spacer beads and the two lengths of chain. The brass connectors are all vintage, but I don't know for sure if they are used or "new" vintage. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I really like jewelry pieces that "mean" something. The domino piece is a talisman necklace for family. The 2 dots on the domino represent man and woman. The little tin disk represents the child. One meaning of green is harmony... jasper represents help in childbirth- and there is a lot of jasper on this necklace. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCP8acWHUNysRBsEdjl9_glbh12sYYWaSfIba0oPh8Xhms4piBwWqF_u4ql-SBeNmlrvJvxqr06zEsYrBVtwp7t-B_gdmZ2s5hIGExq2tSZCH0EdLGinh00BbReaD30ADqY-uhSZ6AwwM/s1600/Dec081016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2aSkCENo08olLra5RD3ueaxlmXYUi5tcmb3NS87mtEPDTRtoZuSEqwKIcl1WWReS89x_-XCAWCwkCKDSI1-yYz7GcBr-RjtxkuV2mtm6tewnV_wzLUWHmy2sklM92rixRRZNG51CDwD0/s1600/Dec081019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2aSkCENo08olLra5RD3ueaxlmXYUi5tcmb3NS87mtEPDTRtoZuSEqwKIcl1WWReS89x_-XCAWCwkCKDSI1-yYz7GcBr-RjtxkuV2mtm6tewnV_wzLUWHmy2sklM92rixRRZNG51CDwD0/s320/Dec081019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCP8acWHUNysRBsEdjl9_glbh12sYYWaSfIba0oPh8Xhms4piBwWqF_u4ql-SBeNmlrvJvxqr06zEsYrBVtwp7t-B_gdmZ2s5hIGExq2tSZCH0EdLGinh00BbReaD30ADqY-uhSZ6AwwM/s1600/Dec081016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCP8acWHUNysRBsEdjl9_glbh12sYYWaSfIba0oPh8Xhms4piBwWqF_u4ql-SBeNmlrvJvxqr06zEsYrBVtwp7t-B_gdmZ2s5hIGExq2tSZCH0EdLGinh00BbReaD30ADqY-uhSZ6AwwM/s320/Dec081016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGus4ihJCDNiOqQkAyMUBZrDqUvMvxTg-nwialsPxsx9J7yOU5-yAV6KhPAaYH11tA-0f3iiMqF-wAfjvKZdtAUvEzofrgZc30GqljzhHnSERSDsuqsSoiA8dkBG6_SrGLGoQhF6lp8tY/s1600/Dec081005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGus4ihJCDNiOqQkAyMUBZrDqUvMvxTg-nwialsPxsx9J7yOU5-yAV6KhPAaYH11tA-0f3iiMqF-wAfjvKZdtAUvEzofrgZc30GqljzhHnSERSDsuqsSoiA8dkBG6_SrGLGoQhF6lp8tY/s320/Dec081005.JPG" width="240" /></a>This piece started with a cool wooden cheetah.The cheetah, wooden beads and pearly chain came from the flea market stuff <a href="http://prolificadornments.blogspot.com/2010/11/todays-flea-market-finds.html" style="color: #6fa8dc;">here</a>. The elephant came from more flea market stuff <a href="http://prolificadornments.blogspot.com/2010/10/saturday-flea-market-shopping.html" style="color: #6fa8dc;">here</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This piece is for getting things done. The cheetah represents intent, focus and making things happen quickly. The elephant is for strength, wisdom and power. Green again is for harmony. When you are trying to get things done, harmony is certainly helpful!<br />
<br />
Blue is representative of inspiration and devotion. <br />
<br />
I haven't decided on how to name my new talisman pieces. I will have to think on that. I need to decide soon though so I can get them listed. lol~Debihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15954837182565399677noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2341105579124575255.post-40991746950231792112010-12-08T17:46:00.000-05:002010-12-08T17:46:08.740-05:00Technical Difficulties...we has them!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5WEuiqf2-J-I_pTUVR7Rf4NvtWReMiOduQh1Qv8_oNvuML5nZB7C0VwOPjv51TQcIT7wIMcnbfa7q0MNw88bsGa4UE452_u7x49uqiRD78qRare7IqltgF5MsTdr8vpy3bCxaPZWdcSM/s1600/technicaldifficulties.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="283" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5WEuiqf2-J-I_pTUVR7Rf4NvtWReMiOduQh1Qv8_oNvuML5nZB7C0VwOPjv51TQcIT7wIMcnbfa7q0MNw88bsGa4UE452_u7x49uqiRD78qRare7IqltgF5MsTdr8vpy3bCxaPZWdcSM/s320/technicaldifficulties.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Hubby and I both have a crazy sense of humor. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Then today I am working on some jewerly pics and my computer is pretty lagged down, so I decide to reboot. One remarked to the other, "Windy, ain't it?"<br />

"No," the second man replied, "It's Thursday."<br />
<br />
And the third man chimed in, "So am I. Let's have a coke.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: times new roman,helvetica;">I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember. My tinnitus sounds like crickets at night. It doesn't come and go, its constant, 24/7. I can't understand people when they speak unless they are looking at me so that I can see their mouth. I miss out on a lot of what I watch on tv, cause I have no clue what they are saying. My family gets a kick out of what I "think" they say. My hearing has gotten worse over the last few years. So today I went to an ENT center to see what's going on with my ears. The doc said I have pretty bad hearing loss for a woman my age. (43) Basically, I need hearing aids. Uggh. Really sucks to have no insurance, no savings, no credit cards and a bunch of shops that sell nuttin. Maybe in a few years I can save up enough to get what I need. </span>~Debihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15954837182565399677noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2341105579124575255.post-31992720314748231922010-11-20T02:39:00.000-05:002010-11-20T02:39:59.015-05:00Inspiration Bracelet<a href="http://prolificadornments.blogspot.com/2010/11/hey-hey-crafty-peeps-new-life-on-bus.html" style="color: #6fa8dc;">Here</a> I told you about the newest challenge from <a href="http://mylifeunderthebus.typepad.com/my-life-under-the-bus/" style="color: #6fa8dc;">My Life Under The Bus</a>. Well lemme tell you. I had a terrible time with this challenge. It wasn't because the palette wasn't inspiring; I LOVE the colors! It wasn't from a lack of materials. I have tons. It was because this week I have been stuck in a rut. Everything I have tried working on has ended with me getting tired of sitting at my work bench and getting up frustrated. My creative streak is G O N E. I even wrote out a whole post about how depressed I was over not being able to create, about how I could not get a thing done. It sounded so depressing that I never did post it for fear of running off my few readers. lol.<br />
<br />
So this was reallllllllllly a challenge for me. I probably put together and took apart my piece a dozen times. It started as a bracelet, then changed to a necklace, then a half a dozen arrangements as a necklace and another half as a bracelet again. I finally settled for what you see here. So without further ado, here ya go. My LABOR of love. lol.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUHWDBOfZt0O8oue76KBDNBNuZay_kK0gCdWKXcvypRNrtFbZHtgVkU8cd3fQ4s1FtsCEP_314Wzlrt51WiKQ7DP5ldj84pBGr8Srf2QNitsyMSie6KDdrivDlVLWT_ik_KlO2RHFUG_A/s1600/InspBracelet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUHWDBOfZt0O8oue76KBDNBNuZay_kK0gCdWKXcvypRNrtFbZHtgVkU8cd3fQ4s1FtsCEP_314Wzlrt51WiKQ7DP5ldj84pBGr8Srf2QNitsyMSie6KDdrivDlVLWT_ik_KlO2RHFUG_A/s320/InspBracelet.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I know it is pretty simple, but it took a lot of tries just to get something I didn't hate with a passion. I chose the darkest of the red-ish colors and gray from the palette.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I literally just finished it, took the pic with the camera on my phone and made this post. Talk about last minute! I should have lightened the photo a bit, but I just wanted to get it up on my blog so I can go to bed! lol<br />
<br />
Btw, as usual, there are recycled components. The large silver rings and the curved beads are from old jewelry :) <br />
<br />
I can't wait to find out what everyone else has created and I hope it was not such a challenge for the rest of the participants. :)~Debihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15954837182565399677noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2341105579124575255.post-6242139218493601872010-11-18T22:51:00.000-05:002010-11-18T22:51:58.519-05:00New Techniques- Ice ResinI bought some Ice Resin a couple of months ago, but I have been afraid to play with it. I tend to do that- buy new things but not get around to them for a while.<br />
<br />
I bought some old rusty lids which I showed <a href="http://prolificadornments.blogspot.com/2010/11/mail-call.html" style="color: #6fa8dc;">here</a> and thought this would be something fun to use with the resin. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPjExH8vq-y3gQPtqbsgwyh3ZlGZGe3OSLWgTGqHmwOd-ZJTCHedXumkVcCwtPnN-UvX86mQzaGN7F0n_fmXJ6Yoljjg3QDWKW3FckTS2Cd8FqQRMF0EW-IJRaJqe0zIAnAkFjjnOJ_P4/s1600/Resin+Lids.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPjExH8vq-y3gQPtqbsgwyh3ZlGZGe3OSLWgTGqHmwOd-ZJTCHedXumkVcCwtPnN-UvX86mQzaGN7F0n_fmXJ6Yoljjg3QDWKW3FckTS2Cd8FqQRMF0EW-IJRaJqe0zIAnAkFjjnOJ_P4/s320/Resin+Lids.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Here are the results: <br />
<br />
For the left one, I left the lid the way it came. I added a dried flower and some text. For the one on the right, I first used a patina on it to make it almost black. Then I added a flatter dried flower and text.<br />
<br />
I mixed the minimum amount of ice resin suggested, (1/4 oz each of part A and part B) let it sit for 5 minutes, then drizzled it over the lids. I had a LOT of resin left, so I half filled some frames which I sell in my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/SweetGeorgiaBeads" style="color: #6fa8dc;">bead shop</a>. I still had a lot left so I grabbed a piece of ephemera paper and coated that too! Note to self and others trying resin for the first time: Always have plenty of things prepared to use resin on. You won't believe how far that stuff goes!<br />
<br />
I am very pleased at how the pieces came out. Of course you have to allow it to cure for 3 days, but you can work with the pieces (carefully) after 6 hours. Although things went pretty much faultless, there are a few things I learned in my first experience with Ice Resin.<br />
<br />
1. Always have plenty of things ready to coat/fill with resin. I would rather have too many things prepared than to waste unused resin.<br />
<br />
2. Always stick loose pieces down. I thought that pouring the resin on the flowers and text would hold them down. Wrong. They tried numerous times to float up on me and I had to use toothpicks to keep pushing them back down.<br />
<br />
3. Watch for bugs. Wait, what? Yeah. I had put my Ott lamps over the pieces for a little while after I poured them so that it would help with raising bubbles to the top. I went out of the room for a few minutes and when I came back, a skeeter hawk (dunno if that is their real name but that's what we call them in the South) had landed on the piece of paper. (Guess he was attracted to the light and the paper was like 9 inches below it.) He had gotten into the house earlier last night but was in my living room which has a vaulted ceiling, so I could not get him out. I didn't even know he had made it to my studio/office. Man that was NOT fun, pulling him out of the resin. I am terrified of bugs. My hubby said I should have just left him there but I don't care to sell resin coated bugs. lol<br />
<br />
4. If you do add pressed real flowers as I did, you may want to coat them with mod podge or something before using them. I knew that the resin would make the paper more transparent, but it also really made the flatter flower very transparent. I wish I had coated it. The thicker flower turned out great!<br />
<br />
5. Watch videos and read tips online. There are a lot of resin videos out there on the web. After watching a few, I felt confident that I too could use resin! It really is easy and fun!<br />
<br />
I can't wait to make some cool jewelry out of the pieces I made :D~Debihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15954837182565399677noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2341105579124575255.post-75113168086188401372010-11-17T18:23:00.000-05:002010-11-17T18:23:53.038-05:00Ship My Stuff! -and talk to me about it!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHyMojUNVEkik0V9fTWrxSeeMLU0UUD1XezelKc5Gx1Q7jeKqFMSVugZU3J5FkRI2UaGW9LKJ8PE4o5zoLefqxlqXj9NRqwydcBnU36nhIHleW-SYWrJadSed6RYDsC7qhwJD9OM1ANUg/s1600/LateOrder.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHyMojUNVEkik0V9fTWrxSeeMLU0UUD1XezelKc5Gx1Q7jeKqFMSVugZU3J5FkRI2UaGW9LKJ8PE4o5zoLefqxlqXj9NRqwydcBnU36nhIHleW-SYWrJadSed6RYDsC7qhwJD9OM1ANUg/s320/LateOrder.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I normally only bring to light wonderful sellers and supplies but today I am ranting a little bit. I placed orders on November 4th with 3 Etsy sellers. I received 2 of my orders promptly. (although there was a bit of a goof on one of them) As of Monday, the 15th, I still had not received one of my orders. So I convoed the seller. Nothing, nada, no response. Today I <i>finally </i>received my order. It was shipped on the 15th, the day I convoed them. Eleven days before they shipped it!?!?!? Hello!<br />
<br />
The seller only has 25 feedbacks, so I really hate to leave them a bad one. I'm not sure what to do. Eleven days to ship. No response to convoes. Not shipping until I asked about my order. Pleeeeease! Top that off with the fact that they live in Tennessee... I live in Georgia. I should have received that order first, not last. Very dissatisfied and will never shop with there again! Of course the seller has not left feedback for me yet, so there is the risk of bad feedback retaliation if I leave a bad one. Uggh<br />

I removed part of the back and the center section of beads and then added the yellow/orange rose to the center. <br />
<br />
<br />
I then searched my bead boxes and found an array of amber, glass and ceramic beads to match the brooch. Check out how the green beads in the brooch match the green ceramic beads perfectly! Old and new- perfectly matched!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrXJpyu4_rciz6zY1lC5RPFS-fpzOoLk-e-Wr3WWz5nXBIwFNmeUpHxaqUz01aR2CewxiMnnoxv-tNoM2rgu0AQScwDTBlIES4IpQyIdWTLiu0Jg7YM96w7c1rT0REhOEeOt9Y4S5DWJI/s1600/Insp4_07.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrXJpyu4_rciz6zY1lC5RPFS-fpzOoLk-e-Wr3WWz5nXBIwFNmeUpHxaqUz01aR2CewxiMnnoxv-tNoM2rgu0AQScwDTBlIES4IpQyIdWTLiu0Jg7YM96w7c1rT0REhOEeOt9Y4S5DWJI/s320/Insp4_07.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
The completed piece <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJHWJWQx3A5t9FxmlmMoqOZormrY7pCafibe2RjM5HP8wCpox5vJRugl2O36DsQvRovVwVpkbQNWxxh31AMCsDoYVUYre8DfB2mjm5U_sA4QW38F-7NIp2fTX2VquIPaJaWMHxuWz4Wh0/s1600/Insp4_11.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJHWJWQx3A5t9FxmlmMoqOZormrY7pCafibe2RjM5HP8wCpox5vJRugl2O36DsQvRovVwVpkbQNWxxh31AMCsDoYVUYre8DfB2mjm5U_sA4QW38F-7NIp2fTX2VquIPaJaWMHxuWz4Wh0/s320/Insp4_11.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I created a clasp from brass and hammered it. The "ring" it hooks into was part of the middle of the brooch that I removed to add the flower. It turned out to be the perfect ring!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqFuu0cY_moG-Vb8eK5D6apMwGQ9aBghkil2UAh4WhblnM6glxNlwcWuLocq7Eff2Syiut-9eobKagV5MZ3mTmehC9lBRBPmyF-fol1dJ-DIh51DLyILVT58gh_akJnc-kmcw-OlNDj7c/s1600/Insp4_13.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqFuu0cY_moG-Vb8eK5D6apMwGQ9aBghkil2UAh4WhblnM6glxNlwcWuLocq7Eff2Syiut-9eobKagV5MZ3mTmehC9lBRBPmyF-fol1dJ-DIh51DLyILVT58gh_akJnc-kmcw-OlNDj7c/s320/Insp4_13.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> So there ya go, my piece for this week. <br />
All of these items came from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/pvcatalina" style="color: #6fa8dc;">pvcatalina </a>on Etsy. She sells nothing but rusty bits and bobs she finds during her walks out in New Mexico. I love to recycle/upcycle/reuse old junk! Oh and her prices are AWESOME. Each batch you see here was $2. Yes, just two bucks each. She also refunds overages in shipping. This lady is obviously just out to clean up the world and not make money. I hope she lists some more goodies soon. I <i>need</i> more! lol~Debihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15954837182565399677noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2341105579124575255.post-920364804323222322010-11-10T17:31:00.000-05:002010-11-10T17:31:39.309-05:00Newly Posted Today<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
