Mor Jewelry and Eat Mor Chikin!

I made a couple more pieces for my meaningful jewelry line. This one is for safety in flight. It has an airplane (upwards bound of course), a compass to keep your path and soapstone, which is used for calming the nerves and helping you be prepared for anything.
Malachite is used for protection and is said to detect impending danger. Copper is related to the sun and so the copper sun charm was a good pick.

This piece is for safety in travel by sea. A charm with a lighthouse (to keep your ship safely sailing in the right direction) is attached to an old rectangular thingy.
The mermaid swims below for added safety. (who knows the ocean better than a mermaid?)
The amethyst chips to either side of the mermaid are used for protection, calming and to ward off danger.
This bracelet I made from a piece that I got from Fanci a while back. You can see the "cuff" part in the 2nd picture here.

The beads on the front look like roughed up labradorite but is actually acrylic. The charms and chain part are new stock aged with patina paint.

I love that bit of rusty-ness around the chain and holes of the beads. The brass/bronze piece is very heavy.

In other news, hubby and I did another 5K on Saturday night. One of our chick-fil-a's here does a fabulous light display every Christmas season. There are rows and rows of arches covered with lights going over the drive-thru lane. The whole building and parking lot is light up and the lights dance to the music! You can tune into a radio station and sit in the comfort of your car and watch the show.

A very blurry pic of hubby and I
And a blurry pic of me just after crossin' the line.
About 3/4 of the way through, I injured my knee. My right knee is already bad from an injury back in July. Now my left one is shot. Boooooooooooooo. But I managed to finish the race. Not in a great time, but still a finish!

OOPS! Had to edit this post cause I FORGOT to mention it's my beautiful little girl's birthday. She is 4 today.

Everyone tell Mysti Happy Birthday!! She's been the most wonderful baby in the last 2 1/2 years since we adopted her! Spoiled rotten rotten rotten!!

Jingle Jangle Bingle Bangles!

Hmm so I had been thinking about making some bangles but hadn't done it yet. (I AM Mrs Procrastination) Then Mrs Fancipants went and created a bunch and they sold like hotcakes...or maybe like Modern Warfare 3 on release day. SSSoooooo I decided to get on the ball and make some.

First I got me some bright n shiny bangles! Wooooo so shiny!
Then I made them purdy and slightly rusty!

Don't they look so much better after?

Then I added all kinds of stuff. Sari silk, beads, wire, dangles, rhinestone chain...etc
Wooot Woot! Aren't they all purdy and stuff?
I waxed them up to seal the metal and dull down a bit of the brightness. Ya know I don't like bright and shiny!
Isn't that heart purdy? I got it in a box of stuff from Fanci.
And doesn't my arm look all old and wrinkly? Dang, I'm only 44!
I actually made myself a set almost identical. I tend to do that with stuff I really like.
Even though the only jewelry I normally wear is a pair of gold hoops and my wedding rings.
So there ya go! An actual jewelry post! Wooooohooooooo!  Now leave some comments so I don't feel like I was talking to myself.  *Smile*

Where you been girl?

I haven't been here in a while. A lot happened and I just didn't blog like I should have. My father has been ill for years. I went to spend a few weeks  back at home. I stayed by his side in the hospital. The doc finally told us that it was time and that we should just do what he would want to make Dad comfortable. It was an easy decision to take him back home. My Dad (or I for that matter) would not want to die in a cold, metal hospital bed. Hospice brought him home and he was in his own bed where he would want to be. I stayed by his side and he passed away peacefully. My heart was broken into many pieces. He was 84.

In October, I walked/ran my 2nd 5K. The Race for The Cure :) I am for sure not a pro runner, but I enjoy the exercise  and  the money goes to a good cause. I normally walk a 5K everyday. Occasionally I skip a day, but I love it!

Hubby and I after the race

I have actually been making stuff! I will post some on that later. Hopefully. Maybe...

You Suck!!

Ok, I am not saying you - the readers, suck. I am saying that is prolly what you are saying about me and my blogging habits. I have a million excuses, but you don't want to hear them. So let's just forgive and forget and hopefully I can get back to blogging the way I should. (I know the 9 of you have been anxiously awaiting a post from me)
How about I start with some supply goodie pics? Fanci sent me some more stuff. Believe it or not, she just sent me these things. I didn't have to ask for them! She offered and I graciously accepted. :) (Sorry for the bad picture quality)
Ok, it was more like a hell yeah, I'll take it! Which brings me to what I am saying next.
I think part of my problem with blogging is that I try soooo hard to fit in with the "popular crowd" of bloggers.
I word my posts so carefully, making sure I use correct grammar and say nothing offensive. I try to make everything all "pretty" with butterflies and rainbows. *pause*  (sorry, I nearly gagged)
Sorry chickadees, that is not me! I am not a bi-otch or anything, but I am sure as hell not a prim and proper kinda gal. When I get angry, I cuss like a sailor. When I don't like something, I say so. I'm not into all the making pretty little things just like everyone else's. (some things have been SOOO overdone!)  I love old junk and creating things that look just as old.
So no more of this pretending crap. I'm me. Take me or leave me! Btw, I don't dislike that type of jewelry or  those types of blogs. It's great that we like different things. If we were all exactly alike, this would be one boring-ass world! (and I do also make that pretty kinda jewelry for my other jewelry shop)
Btw, aren't some of these things just awesometastic!?!? I think so.

In the pic above you see the "Rifle Expert" thingy? Love it! And yeah, I love shooting guns! I have a .40 cal Taurus 24/7 handgun. Oh, and a license to open carry in public. So there!
My sister, who lives in Naples, came up to see my Mom and sister a couple weeks ago. She left me a baggie with a anklet thingy that she wanted me to fix and a baggie of junk jewelry. These red beads were in there. Man, they are huge. And I want to eat them. Seriously, they look big, red and juicy. lol

Now before you start thinking that I am just some evil soul, I am not. I believe in God. I do my best to be positive all the time, because I believe that what you send out, you get back. (and considering I am 43, frowning brings on the wrinkles, lol) I love my family above all things. I love to make people smile. I pray and meditate daily. I try to help people see the good side of things and hate to see anyone drowning in self-pity.

Hopefully, through this post, you now know me better. And... hopefully you keep following my blog!

New Fanci Stuff

Yes, I spelled it Fanci with an "i" because I got a box of stuff from Fanciful Devices! She recently went to  Uruguay and now her stash is overwhelming, so she decided to sell some lots of things. I wish I could get the awesome stuff she found in U, but I guess I would have to take a trip there myself to get the realllly awesome stuff. (a few of the pieces was from her U haul)  I did however, get some cool things from her! Here's a few pics....

Opening the box....
These babies are BIG and Heavy! Might use them for cuffs or pendants.
Check out the clay pipe piece and the little hourglass!

I can't wait to start playing with this stuff!

Finally Listed A Couple New Things!

It seems like since I went on "vacation" at Christmas, stuff just won't stop happening! I closed to prepare for Christmas and Christmas visitors, then I was working on inventory for my bead shop, then working on inventory for my jewelry shop... *breath* then my son and his gf came for a visit, then I had to make a trip to my Mom's to do some computer work for her (and visit of course). ARGH!

I finally gave up and listed a few things today. I still have more to list, but at least I have a couple new things in the shop.

In The Wild
I had to make a few changes to this from when I posted it earlier.

I hope to get more listed tomorrow! I'm in creating/listing withdrawal!

Mail Call!!

I got two packages of goodies in the mail. Yeeehaw!

This batch of goodness I got from 2BCreative on Etsy. Isn't the Rouge tin adorable!?!?! It still has rouge and the little applicator inside :)
These totally cool tins and patinaed shapes came from EmmasMuse on Etsy. I only got 2 of the arched ones in the batch. I wish there were more of those.

I can't wait to get my stupid paperwork done so I can get to playing! :)

Please excuse the picture quality, I took these with my phone with the stuffs sitting on white paper on my desk under a desk lamp. lol
